Amsted Reelin proudly supplies over 50% of Transnet’s bearing requirements, offering Class D bearings for wagons and Class F bearings for locomotives. Our product range includes new Brenco bearings and the refurbishment of Timken and Brenco brands. With unconditional approval from both the Association of American Railroads (AAR) and Transnet, our bearings are a testament to our commitment to quality and reliability.
Our innovative bogie solutions, developed for the 1067 mm track gauge, have been rigorously tested and approved by Transnet. These solutions address the unique challenges of the African continent, enhancing fleet availability and operational efficiency in freight rail operations.
Our bogies incorporate patented lightweight production processes, using high-yield B+ steel and a proprietary coring process, drastically reducing the weight per wagon. In addition, the bogie uses 30% fewer components than currently used bogies, without compromising durability. This design significantly improves fuel efficiency and reduces operational costs, such as wheel wear.
The Motion Control® bogie system, an industry standard since 2003, offers unparalleled versatility and efficiency for rolling stock. It features the lowest lifecycle maintenance costs, extended wheel and bearing life through the Adapter Plus® steering pad, and superior friction wedge durability. This system is the first in its class to achieve unconditional AAR M-976 approval, making it a preferred choice for heavy haul freight transportation.
Beyond bogie assemblies, our portfolio includes a wide range of high-quality spares and components for railway rolling stock that set benchmarks in the railway industry. In addition, we also supply friction wedges, coil springs, Adapter Plus® and PreLoad Plus® systems, Brenco® bearings, Griffin® wheels and Axis axles, as well draft gears and Peacock® slack adjusters.
