Key to this strategy is ensuring sustainability of customers cargo flows for the benefit of all the key stakeholders – rail authorities and customers.

As one of South Africa’s privately owned heavy haul rail operators, Grindrod has successfully transported over 18 million tonnes of iron ore in Sierra Leone over the last three years, showcasing its expertise in managing heavy haul train operations. With the return of the 13 locomotives from this operation to South Africa, Grindrod will be well-positioned to sustain cargo flows on its corridors.
