The Voith Group is a global technology company. Rail is an important part of Voith Turbo’s work on the continent. The group division develops drive systems, transmissions, gear units, couplings, railway couplers and connections, universal joint shafts and other power-transmission technologies for rail vehicles. Its rail portfolio also includes solutions such as locomotive stop-start systems and ETCS upgrades, alongside services covering maintenance, repairs, overhauls, spare parts and technical support. 

In South Africa, Voith Turbo has operated since 1982, with its Witfield facility in Boksburg providing sales, workshops, stores and testing facilities and serving as a hub for customers across Africa. The company is active in rail alongside power, mining, oil and gas, commercial vehicles and other industries.
