Nelson Malefane 

Mr. Nelson Malefane is the Acting PRASA Rail-CEO, he has 31 years experience in the Railways environment.

He commenced his journey in railway by accumulating  knowledge, skills and experience in the following areas : 

• Junior Level (Train Assistance and proceeded to be a Train Driver and later Section Manager)
• Managememt level ( Assistant Manager – Operating Safety, later Manager Train Service Planning and Train Operations Manager)
• Senior Level ( Senior Operations Manager, Strategic Support Manager – Rail-CEO’s Office, PRASA COVID 19 Programme Manager) 
• Executive Level (Acting Executive Manager – Long Distance Services, Acting Provincial Manager – Gauteng Region and currently Acting PRASA Rail-CEO)

Mr. Malefane`s current key responsibilities is to provide leadership within Rail Operations by overseeing the day to day running of the commuter service and long-distance service in compliance with the legislated mandate. 

Mr. Malefane has an Operation`s qualification from UNISA and a Transportation Management qualification from the University of Johannesburg.
