An experienced Transport Professional with almost 20 years’ experience in Road, Rail, Ports and Airports in Africa and the United Kingdom, Tshepo Kgare has an excellent record of accomplishment in managing or contributing to challenging transport projects. Her earlier career encompassed various urban transportation projects in consulting firms in South Africa and the United Kingdom, followed by international experience working for the African Union Commission’s Infrastructure Department and the Sub Sahara Africa Transport Policy Program (SSATP) hosted by the World Bank.
Prior to assuming her current role as Chief Executive Officer at the Railway Safety Regulator, Ms Kgare has held numerous leadership roles including a stint as Head of Department of Transport in the Eastern Cape and Chief Operations Officer at the Railway Safety Regulator (RSR).
She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Edinburgh Business School, UK and a National Diploma in Civil Engineering from Vaal University.
